BIOGRAFIA
Mi Nombre es Nicolás Valeiras, soy artista plástico orientado al muralismo desde el 2012. Mis comienzos estuvieron ligados al Graffiti, donde comencé a familiarizarme con los grandes formatos y con la calle como soporte.
De manera autodidacta fui incorporando herramientas para el desarrollo de mi obra, participando de diversos eventos de murales a lo largo del país, y, de intervenciones en espacios públicos en Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Mexico y los Estados Unidos.
My Name is Nicolás Valeiras, I am a plastic artist oriented to muralism since 2012. My beginnings were linked to Graffiti, where I began to familiarize myself with large formats and with the street culture as support.
Self-taught I was incorporating tools for the development of my work, participating in various mural events throughout the country, and art interventions in public spaces in Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Mexico and EE.UU.
OBRA // WORK
Mi obra gira en torno a la idea de la obsolescencia como sistema de producción, el ser humano y la naturaleza. Pensar en qué se producen mercancías sin freno, para alimentar un sistema de trabajo que brilla por su injusticia y en detrimento de nuestro habitad, es un panorama que por momentos me aterra. Del sentimiento que esto me produce, de la idea de que los verdaderos obsoletos somos nosotrxs, sale el hilo conductor de mi trabajo de un tiempo a esta parte.
My work revolves around the idea of obsolescence as a production system, the human being and nature. Thinking about how merchandise is produced without restraint, to feed a work system that shines for its injustice and to the detriment of our habitat, is a panorama that terrifies me at times. From the feeling that this produces in me, from the idea that we are the truly obsolete, comes the common thread of my work for some time now.
